OUS Cambridgeshire is open to all Oxford Alumni who have matriculated and have completed a course of one year or more at Oxford University. In addition those who have taught at Oxford University are also welcome to join the society.

OUSC finances
During the last five years that we have been operating as a successful local group of the Oxford University Society, we have made no charge for membership; membership of the Oxford University Society in Cambridgeshire is free – anyone who matriculated at Oxford and currently lives in Cambridgeshire is welcome.
Normally we only charge for the events we hold which incur costs such as venue hire, refreshments, payment of speaker’s expenses, etc. Inevitably, setting those charges requires a degree of guesswork in predicting how many people will want to come to each event, so there is always an element of risk of a shortfall. Over the last two and a half years, we have had some one-off administrative costs such as Zoom contracts to facilitate events and committee meetings, as well as the on-going costs of maintaining the group – mainly the cost of the website (£225 a year).
Currently, we hold an acceptable balance in our bank account, but that balance is falling. We feel, however, that we now need to plan more actively to ensure we continue to cover all our costs in future as well as having some contingency for unforeseen circumstances.
We would therefore like to invite you to make a voluntary annual contribution of £10 to our funds, starting from 1 October 2022, to ensure that we continue stay solvent.
