Miles on Misericords

17th September @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Once again, OUSC member Miles Dodd  has offered to give a talk, illustrated by his excellent photographs. Miles’ previous talks , on Vietnam and Japan, were much appreciated. This time he will be looking at misericords in England and France of the  13th-16th centuries. The little wooden carvings found under the tip-up seats in churches and cathedrals can be beautiful, hilarious, rather rude, full of symbolism and always fascinating.

You are invited to join the OUSC on Tuesday 17th September in the Quarry Whitehouse Auditorium at Selwyn College. Join us at 7pm for excellent nibbles and delicious cremant before the talk at 7.30pm. And once again, Miles’ generosity is enabling us to offer this event free of charge.

Guests are welcome! Bring your friends.
